This approach not only reduces costs but also provides families with more options and transparency. 


What are the main costs associated with a funeral? According to the National Funeral Directors Association, the median cost of a funeral with a viewing and burial, including a vault and metal casket, is nearly $10,0001. Additional costs such as a plot, headstone, and other services can bring the total to between $15,000 and $25,0002. Expenses typically include: 

  • Basic service fees charged by funeral homes 

  • Transportation of the body 

  • Embalming and body preparation 

  • Use of the funeral home for viewing and the funeral ceremony 

  • Casket and burial vault 

  • Burial plot and headstone 


What is the most expensive part of a funeral? The casket itself often stands out as one of the most expensive parts of a funeral. Traditional funeral homes markup caskets significantly, with average prices hovering around $3,000. Titan Casket, however, offers high-quality caskets at around $1,500, making this significant expense much more manageable for families. 


During the interview, Josh and Scott emphasized the importance of planning ahead to avoid the financial strain that often accompanies funeral arrangements.
